IT/Computing Teacher – Derby (QTS Required)

Location: Derby

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Start Date: Immediate / January 2027

Pay Rate: £130–£230 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)

Qualification: QTS required

Experience: Minimum 6 months’ teaching experience in a UK secondary school

Overview:

Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected secondary school in Derby to recruit a dedicated IT/Computing Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled IT/Computing educator to contribute to a thriving department and support students at KS3, KS4, and potentially Computer Science KS5. Derby schools provide modern computer suites and support cutting-edge technology initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver the KS3 & KS4 IT/Computing curriculum, with KS5 teaching available if experienced in Derby
    • Plan, prepare, and assess Computer Science, coding, and ICT lessons in line with department policy
    • Monitor student progress and implement appropriate technical interventions
    • Contribute to IT/Computing department improvement planning
    • Attend staff meetings, CPD, and parents’ evenings as required

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
    • Has at least 6 months of classroom teaching IT/Computing experience in a UK secondary setting
    • Is passionate about Computer Science/IT education and student achievement
    • Has excellent behaviour management and communication skills
    • Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life
