Overview: Education Personnel are delighted to be working in partnership with a progressive and well-respected Alternative Provision (AP) setting in Burton to recruit a dedicated AP Teacher for a position starting immediately or in January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for a resilient and compassionate educator to work with pupils who require alternative curriculum pathways, smaller group settings, and tailored re-engagement strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored core subject or specialist teaching to small groups of students within an Alternative Provision environment.
- Plan, prepare, and adapt lessons to meet social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
- Monitor student progress, track behavioural development, and implement trauma-informed interventions.
- Collaborate closely with SENCos, multi-agency teams, and pastoral support staff.
- Attend staff meetings, CPD, and review meetings as required.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Has at least 6 months of teaching experience within an AP, PRU, SEN, or mainstream secondary setting with strong inclusion focus.
- Is passionate about re-engaging vulnerable young people in education.
- Demonstrates outstanding de-escalation skills, resilience, and emotional intelligence.
- Demonstrates a collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to school life.
