Location: Bristol, Oxfordshire and the Midlands (remote working)

Contract: Self-employed Associate (Sole Trader or Limited Company)

Engagement: Interim assignments and project-based consultancy

At EPM, our Associates play a vital role in supporting schools and academy trusts by delivering high-quality HR consultancy when and where it's needed most. We are looking to expand our network of experienced HR Consultants who are passionate about making a difference in the education sector. Working on a flexible, self-employed basis, you'll undertake a wide variety of interesting assignments, building trusted relationships with school and trust leaders while providing pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice.

About You

We're looking for experienced HR professionals who can confidently work independently and provide expert advice on complex employee relations matters. Ideally, you'll have:

  • CIPD Level 5 or Level 7 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • Significant experience as a senior HR Practitioner, HR Business Partner or HR Consultant
  • Experience of delivering high-level HR advice to senior leaders
  • Strong employee relations expertise, including:
    • Complex disciplinary, grievance and capability cases
    • Workplace investigations
    • Organisational change and restructures
    • TUPE transfers
    • Complex absence management
  • Experience of leading or supporting complex trade union consultation and negotiations
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • The ability to quickly build credibility and trusted relationships with customers

Desirable

  • Experience working within the education sector (desirable but not essential)
  • Mediation and/or coaching qualifications
  • Experience supporting academies, maintained schools or multi-academy trusts
  • Experience delivering training or facilitating workshops
