About the Role
We are looking for a confident and detail-focused individual with strong experience handling HMRC and payroll-related queries, ideally within the education sector. This is a hands-on role that involves reviewing payroll records, investigating issues, and working collaboratively with customers, internal teams, and HMRC to ensure accuracy, compliance, and smooth resolution of queries.
Key Responsibilities
- Liaise directly with HMRC regarding payroll submissions, queries, investigations, and audits.
- Review payroll and tax records to identify and resolve discrepancies proactively.
- Investigate HMRC or payroll-related issues, particularly those relating to education sector payrolls.
- Communicate with customers to gather required information, explain issues clearly, and provide regular updates.
- Work closely with internal payroll teams to ensure accurate records and timely submissions.
- Keep up to date with HMRC legislation and compliance requirements, ensuring best practice is followed.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen the efficiency and accuracy of payroll and tax operations.
About You
- Experience in payroll, tax compliance, or audit (education payroll experience is highly advantageous).
