We are recruiting an experienced Key Stage 2 Teacher for a maternity cover role at a supportive primary school in Wiltshire, starting in February. This is a part-time position (Tuesday to Friday), running from Tuesday 24th February until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
About the Role- KS2 mixed-age class (Years 3–6)
- 25 pupils
- 4 days per week: Tuesday to Friday
- Maternity cover (until end of academic year)
- Not suitable for ECTs
- Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the National Curriculum
- Plan and teach engaging lessons, with differentiation to support all learners
- Manage classroom behaviour positively and consistently
- Assess pupil progress and provide feedback
- Support pupils with additional needs, including 1 EHCP and 5 SEN support pupils
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff
- Teaching Assistant support in class most days (all except Thursday)
- Shared planning across partner schools, reducing individual workload
- PPA time provided every Thursday afternoon
- Staff meetings held on Tuesdays until approx. 4:45pm
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Has experience teaching KS2
- Is confident managing a mixed-age class
- Has experience supporting pupils with SEN
- Is reliable, organised, and professional
