We are recruiting an experienced Key Stage 2 Teacher for a maternity cover role at a supportive primary school in Wiltshire, starting in February. This is a part-time position (Tuesday to Friday), running from Tuesday 24th February until the end of the academic year, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

About the Role

  • KS2 mixed-age class (Years 3-6)
  • 25 pupils
  • 4 days per week: Tuesday to Friday
  • Maternity cover (until end of academic year)
  • Not suitable for ECTs

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching in line with the National Curriculum
  • Plan and teach engaging lessons, with differentiation to support all learners
  • Manage classroom behaviour positively and consistently
  • Assess pupil progress and provide feedback
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including 1 EHCP and 5 SEN support pupils
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff

Planning & Support

  • Teaching Assistant support in class most days (all except Thursday)
  • Shared planning across partner schools, reducing individual workload
  • PPA time provided every Thursday afternoon
  • Staff meetings held on Tuesdays until approx. 4:45pm

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Has experience teaching KS2
  • Is confident managing a mixed-age class
  • Has experience supporting pupils with SEN
  • Is reliable, organised, and professional
