Education People are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Wincanton, Somerset , supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and lower learning abilities.

The Role – SEN Teaching Assistant
As a SEN TA, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional learning needs.
Support children with ASD, autism, SEMH and emotional regulation.
Help pupils working below age-related expectations access the curriculum.
Support positive behaviour, engagement and social development.
Adapt your approach to meet individual learning and emotional needs.
Work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
What We’re Looking For
Previous experience working with children with SEN, ideally within a primary school or specialist setting.
Experience supporting autism, ASD, SEMH, behaviour or learning difficulties.
A patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with children.
A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
