Are you passionate about empowering young people to thrive as they transition into and through college? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate progress and development tutor to join our supportive team at our industry standard City and HICSA campus. In this role you will play a crucial part in supporting our students' progress and personal development, enabling them to achieve their full potential.

As a key part of the role, you will provide assertive and proactive personal support to students, helping to ensure high levels of attendance, punctuality, retention, and academic progress—particularly in core areas such as English and maths. You'll work closely with teaching teams, support staff, parents, and students themselves to create a supportive environment where every learner can flourish and achieve their personal goals.
With responsibility for a specific caseload, you will coach students individually and in groups, setting meaningful targets, implementing timely interventions, and using tools such as eILP (ProMonitor) to track and monitor progress. A core focus will be on identifying and supporting "At Risk" students and closing achievement gaps, actively contributing to positive progression into further education, training, or employment.
Role Responsibilities
- To work as part of a faculty team, to support students in their personal development, enabling them to become independent students who enjoy, achieve and are able to reach their full potential.
- To provide and support the student development programme and to carry out effective 1:1 tutorials with a cohort of students and to monitor their attendance, punctuality, academic and or technical progress, English and maths progress, work experience and social development.
- To support students with the UCAS process, including providing advice, guidance and support on the creation of personal statements.
- To monitor attendance, punctuality and progress of students on all elements of student’s individual study programme within caseload and implement timely interventions to enable students to realise their full potential.
- Proactively engage in use of ProMonitor to support the Student Journey, ensuring the maintenance of accurate record.
- To be aware of any safeguarding/vulnerable student needs and follow procedures for the higher duty of care required to these students.
Qualifications
- Level 2 In English and Maths (Grade C or Grade 4)
- Experience of working with young people
- Effective use of digital and IT resources
- Ability to work with a wide range of learners
