About the Candidate
As a member of the Housing Curriculum Team, the candidate will play an active role in the design and delivery of curriculum content ensuring a timely planning and preparation of high-quality, sequenced learning through practical careers-focused schemes of learning, session planning and resources are in place.
About the Role
The candidate will contribute to the design and delivery of Chartered Institute of Housing Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications. This will help to support the professionalisation of the Housing Sector with the introduction of the Competence & Conduct Standard due in October 2026. It is a great opportunity to help shape the Collegeās Housing Curriculum, working in partnership with the Chartered Institute of Housing Awarding Organisation and local housing providers to ensure our programme fully meets the requirements of the Competence & Conduct Standard.
The College provides a comprehensive induction programme and will support the candidate to achieve a Level 3 Assessors Award and Level 5 Teaching Diploma. The delivery of our Housing Curriculum is part of our Housing Innovation Construction Skills Academy where the candidate will be based. They will have access to the latest teaching tools and technologies, such as our immersive classrooms to support innovative delivery methods.
Role Responsibilities
- Embrace and promote teaching and learning technologies and implement them to enhance the student experience.
- Review course content and resources to ensure currency and relevance with both the qualification and future industry requirements.
- Provide an excellent experience to students through exemplary learning, teaching and standards of assessment.
- Develop and share subject pedagogy within and across teams to maintain currency and accuracy.
- Preparation of effective formative and summative assessments including feedback to meet awarding organisation standards and student needs.
- Lead on Internal and External Quality Assurance in line with the College quality assurance policy and procedures and awarding organisation guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Training or equivalent, or commitment to complete within the first two years
- Level 3 Assessor qualification, or commitment to complete within the first two years
- Level 4 Housing qualification with a commitment to obtain a Level 5
- Minimum Level 2 Maths qualification
- Minimum Level 2 English qualification
Essential Skills & Experience
The candidate must satisfy at least one of the following requirements:
- A recognised Housing, or Housing-related qualification at level 4 or above.
- Enrolment and completion of a recognised Housing or Housing-related qualification within an agreed period.
- Minimum two yearsā experience of working in a Housing or Housing-related organisation at a manager level or above.
- Professional level membership of a recognised Housing professional body.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Previous experience of delivering education training in the housing sector.
