About the Role

As a Hairdressing Teacher, you will be responsible for instructing and mentoring students in the art of hairdressing. You will deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons that cover a wide range of topics, including cutting, styling, colouring, chemical treatments, and client consultation. Your role will involve creating lesson plans, demonstrating techniques, providing constructive feedback, and evaluating student progress. Additionally, you will assist in developing curriculum materials and staying updated on industry trends and advancements.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
  • Demonstrate various hairdressing techniques and provide hands-on instruction to students.
  • Guide and mentor students in developing their technical skills, creativity, and professionalism.
  • Assess student performance through practical exams, projects, and theoretical assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to enhance their learning experience.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualifications and certifications in hairdressing.
  • Level 2 in English and Maths.
  • Relevant teaching qualification or commitment to work towards.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Professional experience as a hairstylist, demonstrating expertise in various hairdressing techniques.
  • Familiarity with the latest hairdressing trends, tools, and products.
  • Previous teaching experience or experience in a mentorship role would be advantageous.
