The Director of Estates provides strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of Estates Management for Education Partnership North East.
Working closely with the Vice Principal Corporate Services, the post holder plans, directs and implements the organisation's estates strategy - encompassing development, maintenance and environmental performance - to deliver a safe, sustainable, and high quality learning environment aligned with the college's long-term strategic ambitions.
- Role Responsibilities
- Estates Management - The Director is responsible for the delivery of works and capital projects to the College, acting as the primary contact for all internal and external customers.
- Compliance, Governance and Risk - Ensure statutory compliance across all areas including Health & Safety, Security, Fire Safety, and Building Safety Act requirements.
- Contracted Services - The role oversees and ensures successful relationships and contracts with organisations that the College outsources, such as Cleaning and Security contracts.
- Environmental - The role involves leading Energy and Waste Management, ensuring robust monitoring and recording of the college's energy consumption and waste data and ensuring their is a focus on sustainability.
- Working with key College stakeholders, outline and implement new innovative and economically reductive ways to reduce the College's environmental impact whilst achieving industry leading environmental and sustainability metrics.
- Responding to out of hours estates matters.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Broad experience across all areas of the Estates and Facilities function
- Extensive experience developing and delivering estate strategies and capital programs
- Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary team of Estates professionals
- Successful management of health and safety arrangements in respect of estates and projects, with a high level understanding of fire regulations and complianc
Desirable
- Health and Safety Qualification - NEBOSH or equivalent
- Project Management qualification (Prince 2, MSP or equivalent)
