About the Role

This role involves delivering engaging teaching and assessment in light vehicle maintenance, helping learners build essential skills for the automotive industry. It’s a great opportunity to make a real impact, share industry expertise, and support learner success. While not tied to a specific project, the role contributes to our wider mission of raising technical education standards. Role Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging light vehicle maintenance sessions to meet curriculum and industry standards.
  • Support learners through their journey, monitoring progress, attendance, and behaviour.
  • Provide constructive feedback to support achievement and progression.
  • Create and maintain high-quality learning resources, including digital materials.
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers and stakeholders to enhance the curriculum.
  • Contribute to course development, quality assurance, and college events such as enrolment and open days.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
  • English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Note: A teaching qualification is not essential, but support will be provided to work towards one.
  • Recent industry experience in light vehicle maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of current vehicle systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and support learners at different levels.
  • Competent in using technology to support teaching and learning.
  • Understanding of health & safety, safeguarding, and equality practices.
  • Experience in a teaching, training or mentoring role.
  • Knowledge of electric/hybrid vehicle technologies.
  • Experience working with awarding bodies or vocational assessment.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms and online teaching tools.
