Hartlepool Sixth Form is the top performing Sixth Form college in the North East for student achievement, with a 100% pass rate for over 30 courses and 98% of our students progressing to either college or employment. Here in Hartlepool, we have delivered highly successful courses for more than 50 years as the only dedicated sixth‑form college in the area. Situated on the outskirts of the town centre, we have excellent facilities for both academic and vocational study, including sports facilities, fully equipped science labs, a new digital academy, and a health simulation ward.

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an ambitious candidate to join our team at Hartlepool Sixth Form as a part‑time teacher and programme lead in our Health and Social Care team. The successful candidate will work in a thriving department, which currently delivers a curriculum spanning Level 2 and 3 Health, Education and Care courses.

About you

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator who is committed to delivering high‑quality learning experiences. In this role, you will plan, deliver, and assess engaging teaching and learning activities, ensuring that students not only meet their academic goals but also thrive and progress toward their future careers, fostering a supportive learning environment and ensuring positive student outcomes and successful destinations after their studies.

  • A suitable degree, and a teaching qualification is desirable, though we will consider candidates without a teaching qualification who are willing to work toward obtaining one.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prior experience working within the health sector.
  • Proactive and continuous improvement mindset to ensure all students receive the best possible support and guidance throughout their learning journey.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of BTEC and T‑level specifications and requirements.
  • Knowledge of employer contracts for industry placement opportunities, which would be advantageous.
