We are excited to announce a range of teaching opportunities across a group of esteemed colleges, seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to join our teams. We are recruiting for a variety of roles in the Construction Trades department, specifically in the following areas:
- Carpentry & Joinery
- Plumbing
- Plastering
- Painting & Decorating
Whether you have extensive teaching experience or none at all, we encourage you to apply. These positions offer the opportunity to share your expertise and knowledge with the next generation of tradespeople. We are open to applications for casual, part-time, temporary, full-time, and sessional positions. Whether you have teaching experience or are looking to transition into education, we can provide the training and support you need to achieve your teaching qualifications.
Taking Teaching Further & Additional Incentive
If you’re making the move into further education teaching, you may be eligible for the Taking Teaching Further (TTF) programme, a funded route to help industry professionals retrain as FE teachers. In addition, for roles in high-need subjects or regions you may also benefit from the government’s targeted retention incentive (formerly “levelling‑up premium”) payments, worth up to £6,000 for eligible teachers in their first five years and teaching certain shortage subjects. Please note eligibility for both TTF and the Targeted Retention Incentive varies by role, subject area and provider; they do not apply to every vacancy.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Trade Lecturers: Deliver engaging and practical lessons that help students build hands‑on skills in Carpentry & Joinery, Plumbing, Plastering, or Painting & Decorating, while ensuring they gain the technical knowledge needed to succeed in their careers.
- Programme Leads: Oversee the successful delivery of construction trade programmes, managing a team of educators and ensuring the curriculum aligns with industry standards.
- Curriculum Managers: Develop, implement, and manage high‑quality curriculum content, ensuring students receive a comprehensive, practical education in their chosen trade.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
- Expertise in one or more of the following trades: Carpentry & Joinery, Plumbing, Plastering, or Painting & Decorating.
- Previous experience in the relevant trade industry is essential.
- You don’t need to have formal teaching qualifications at this stage! We are happy to consider applicants without Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and can provide training to help you achieve your teaching qualifications.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their potential.
