SEMH Teacher – West Yorkshire

Location: West Yorkshire (various locations available)

Salary: £150 – £210 per day (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, long-term, or permanent opportunities

Start Date: Immediate / Ongoing

The Education Network is currently recruiting for an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teacher to work in a specialist provision supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

As an SEMH Teacher, you will work with small groups or individual pupils who have additional emotional or behavioural needs, creating a safe and supportive classroom environment that encourages engagement and progress. You will plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to each learner\’s individual needs and EHCP targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planning and delivering engaging, inclusive lessons across the curriculum
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs to develop social and emotional resilience
  • Managing behaviour effectively using positive strategies and restorative approaches
  • Working closely with support staff, SENCOs, and external agencies
  • Tracking and assessing pupil progress to ensure individual learning goals are met

About You

We are looking for a teacher who:

  • Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has experience working with pupils with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural needs
  • Is patient, resilient, and empathetic, with strong classroom management skills
  • Is confident in differentiating lessons to meet varied learning needs
  • Has a good understanding of trauma-informed and inclusive teaching practices
