Overview

We are proud to be partnering with a well-established Alternative Provision in Northumberland, recruiting teachers for roles starting ASAP. If you\’re a dedicated and adaptable teacher with a passion for supporting young people outside of mainstream education, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

About the Provision

This multi-site Alternative Provision supports learners across KS2-KS4, offering tailored education to students with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, ASD, and behavioural challenges. Each site has its own unique setting, but all share a commitment to nurturing, inclusive education that prioritises student wellbeing and re-engagement with learning.

About the Roles

We are recruiting for ASAP starts across several of the provision\’s sites, with opportunities for:

  • General teaching across KS2-KS4
  • Subject-specific roles (particularly English, Maths, Science, PSHE)
  • Long-term and temp-to-perm placements
  • Full-time positions available

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
  • Support students with behavioural and emotional challenges, using a calm and restorative approach.
  • Work closely with a dedicated team of support staff, SENCOs and pastoral leads.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment.
  • Track and report on student progress in line with individual learning plans or EHCPs.

Requirements

  • QTS or QTLS (applications from ECTs are welcome).
  • Experience working in AP, PRU, SEND, or with students displaying challenging behaviour.
  • Strong behaviour management and the ability to build positive, consistent relationships.
  • A patient, adaptable, and trauma-informed approach to teaching.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through us).
