Location: Northumberland

Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm

Start: ASAP / Ongoing

Salary: Varied – pay is dependent on experience, with the higher end offered to teachers with greater experience.

We are working with a nurturing, trauma-informed SEMH school in Northumberland that is seeking a Qualified Maths Teacher (QTS essential) to join their committed and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who can deliver Maths in creative, flexible and relational ways, helping pupils re-engage with learning and build confidence.

Role Responsibilities

  • Teach Maths across a small number of pupils with SEMH needs
  • Adapt and personalise learning to meet a wide range of abilities
  • Build strong, positive relationships using trauma-informed and restorative approaches
  • Create a predictable, safe and supportive classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and the wider multidisciplinary team

What We’re Looking For

  • QTS (essential) – Maths specialism or strong experience teaching Maths
  • Experience in SEMH, PRU or alternative provision is beneficial but not essential
  • Ability to differentiate work and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons
  • A resilient, patient and emotionally intelligent approach
  • Someone who wants to make a meaningful difference to young people
