How to prepare for a job interview at Education Matters Group

✨Know Your EYFS

Make sure you brush up on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework before your interview. Being able to discuss how you would implement EYFS principles in your practice will show that you’re not just familiar with it, but that you can apply it effectively in a nursery setting.

✨Showcase Your Communication Skills

Since excellent communication is key in this role, prepare examples of how you've successfully communicated with children, parents, and colleagues in the past. Think about specific situations where your communication made a positive impact on a child's learning or well-being.

✨Understand Safeguarding Legislation

Familiarise yourself with current safeguarding policies and legislation. Be ready to discuss how you would ensure a safe environment for children and what steps you would take if you had concerns about a child's welfare.

✨Prepare Questions for Them

Interviews are a two-way street! Prepare thoughtful questions about their nursery's approach to early years education, team dynamics, and how they support their staff. This shows your genuine interest in the role and helps you assess if it's the right fit for you.
