We are currently seeking an experienced and qualified SENDCo to join a welcoming secondary school in Ilford (IG6) on an interim basis from September to December 2026, whilst the school recruits for the role on a permanent basis. This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 5 days per week) and presents an excellent opportunity for a dedicated SEND professional to make an immediate impact on the provision and outcomes for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
The Role
- Lead and manage the school's SEND provision.
- Work closely with staff, parents, external agencies, and senior leadership.
- Ensure students receive appropriate support and interventions.
- Maintain and oversee EHCPs and SEND documentation.
- Contribute to strategic planning and inclusion initiatives.
Desirable
- The ability to offer some English teaching would be highly advantageous.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or working towards it.
- Previous SENDCo experience within a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice.
