We are currently supporting a well-established college in appointing a Pastoral Tutor with a background in Construction. This is a rewarding opportunity to support students studying vocational construction courses, helping them to stay engaged, motivated, and on track to achieve their goals. This role is ideal for someone who has worked or studied within construction and has since moved into an education or support-based role, or is looking to transition into one. Part time (3 days per week) £130 per day.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pastoral support to students within the construction department
- Support behaviour, attendance, and student engagement
- Deliver one-to-one and group support sessions
- Work closely with teaching staff to support learner progress
- Monitor and track student development and wellbeing
- Support students with barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes
Person Specification
- Experience or background in construction/trades/built environment
- Experience working with young people in an education, mentoring, or support role
- Strong behaviour management and communication skills
- A proactive, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing
