Full-time, Permanent (Term Time). We are seeking a dedicated Learning and Pastoral Support Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school setting supporting pupils with SEMH, Autism, ADHD and associated needs. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about inclusion, wellbeing and helping young people thrive both academically and emotionally.
Working closely with teachers and pastoral leaders, you will support learning in small classes, help manage behaviour using trauma-informed approaches, and build strong, positive relationships with pupils. You will play a key role in supporting EHCPs, interventions, personal development and enrichment activities, ensuring students feel safe, supported and motivated to succeed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting students in lessons and pastoral activities using approaches such as PACE, Zones of Regulation and trauma-informed practice
- Working collaboratively with teachers to deliver tailored learning and behaviour support
- Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, independence and personal development
- Supporting students during breaks, trips, enrichment activities and off-site learning
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to safeguarding and wellbeing practices
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience as a TA, LSA or Learning & Pastoral Support role (SEMH/SEND experience desirable)
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, inclusion and student wellbeing
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) and an Enhanced DBS
- Excellent communication skills and a calm, resilient, empathetic approach
- ELSA, Team Teach or trauma-informed training (desirable, not essential)
