We are seeking a passionate and resilient Maths Teacher to join our dedicated team at a specialist SEN school supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The Role
- You will deliver engaging and differentiated Maths lessons to students across KS3 and KS4, many of whom may have additional learning needs, Autism, ADHD, trauma-related behaviours or gaps in education.
- The successful candidate will be able to build positive relationships, create a calm and structured classroom environment, and support students both academically and emotionally.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, differentiated Maths lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
- Support students with SEMH needs to re-engage positively with education.
- Create a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment.
- Manage behaviour positively using restorative and trauma-informed approaches.
- Monitor progress and contribute to EHCP targets and student reviews.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and external professionals.
- Support students’ emotional wellbeing alongside academic development.
The Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Maths at KS3 and KS4 level.
- Experience working within SEN, SEMH or alternative provision settings desirable.
- Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
- Patient, adaptable and resilient approach.
- Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people to achieve success.
