An ambitious and supportive sixth form college in Havering is seeking to appoint a knowledgeable and enthusiastic A Level Computer Science Teacher/Lecturer on a 0.60 FTE basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Computer Science specialist to join a successful post-16 department committed to academic achievement, student progression, and high-quality teaching and learning.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and challenging A Level Computer Science lessons, supporting students to develop strong programming, computational thinking, and problem-solving skills within a positive and inclusive learning environment.
The Role
- Deliver A Level Computer Science across KS5
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons aligned with examination specifications
- Monitor student progress and provide targeted intervention where required
- Support learners in achieving strong academic outcomes and progression pathways
- Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives
- Maintain accurate assessment and learner tracking records
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, QTLS or equivalent)
- A degree in Computer Science or a related subject
- Experience teaching Computer Science at KS5/A Level
- Strong subject knowledge including programming and computational theory
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education
