A large and well-established Further Education college in East London is seeking an experienced and dynamic Deputy Principal to join its senior leadership team. This is a key strategic role responsible for supporting the campus Principal in driving outstanding teaching, learning and student outcomes. The successful candidate will play a critical role in shaping curriculum delivery, improving quality standards, and ensuring an exceptional student experience across a large and diverse campus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership across the campus to ensure excellence in teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Support the Principal in the operational management and performance of the campus.
  • Lead on quality improvement, ensuring strong achievement, retention and progression rates.
  • Oversee the development of a high-quality curriculum aligned with employer and regional skills needs.
  • Lead and support curriculum leaders and teaching staff to drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted frameworks, awarding body standards and safeguarding requirements.
  • Strengthen relationships with employers, schools and community partners.
  • Contribute to whole-college strategic planning and development.

About You

  • Degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd or equivalent).
  • Significant senior leadership experience within Further Education or Post-16 education.
  • Proven track record of improving teaching quality and student outcomes.
  • Experience leading large teams and complex curriculum areas.
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted expectations and FE funding frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
