We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable IT & Computing Lecturer to join our teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across a range of programmes from Entry Level to Level 3, with potential involvement in higher education programmes (HNC/D) and apprenticeship standards. Learners will include both 14-19 and adult students. You will play a key role in delivering engaging lessons, supporting learners in achieving their goals, and contributing to the continued development of our curriculum.

The role includes:

  • Teaching, assessment, tutoring, curriculum planning
  • Liaising with employers, awarding bodies, moderators and partnership organisations
  • Participating in student recruitment, induction, and progression activities
  • Maintaining accurate course and assessment records
  • Supporting the broader quality assurance processes of the College
  • Some blended or online delivery may be required

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in IT, Computing, Computer Science or a related field
  • A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
  • Strong technical skills, including programming/coding (Python, Java), IT systems, networks and cyber security
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Access; experience with MS Project is desirable
  • Experience delivering IT units such as computer systems, software development, website development and related subjects
  • Understanding of awarding body requirements, assessment practices, and quality assurance procedures
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to support and tutor students effectively
  • Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusive learning
