We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to lead and develop inclusive practice across the school. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, you will ensure high-quality provision for students with SEND, maintain compliance with the SEND Code of Practice (2014), and promote a culture of high expectations and inclusion for all learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school in line with statutory requirements and school policy.
  • Ensure accurate identification, assessment, tracking, and review of students with SEND, maintaining an up-to-date SEND register and profiles.
  • Promote and embed Quality First Teaching and effective differentiation across the school.
  • Oversee and evaluate targeted interventions, deploying staff and resources effectively.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, external agencies, and professionals to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Provide professional development and guidance for staff in relation to SEND.
  • Monitor and report on the progress and impact of SEND provision, including reporting to governors.
  • Ensure safeguarding, equality, and inclusion are central to SEND practice.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • SENCO qualification (National Award for SEN Coordination) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Proven experience of supporting students with SEND within a school setting.
  • Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation.
  • Experience of working collaboratively with staff, parents, governors, and external agencies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to inclusive education, safeguarding, and raising outcomes for all learners.
