SEN Learning Support Assistant

Description
- Do you have experience with children with autism, global developmental delay and complex needs?
- Are you able to plan and deliver engaging sessions to develop life skills, communication, emotional regulation and learning at Early Years levels?
- Are you looking for a rewarding role working 1:1 or 2:1 with children who need your help in the Oxford area?
The placement:
- Working with your student on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis in their home or educational setting in the Oxford area
- Planning & delivering life skills, communication and early literacy/numeracy skills sessions on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis
- Supporting 1:1 or 2:1 in a class setting where appropriate
- Bank Staff worker – providing short-term provisions as and when they arise, paid via PAYE
What you need to apply:
- At least 1 year\’s professional experience working with vulnerable children or young people with additional needs (SEN, SEMH needs and other barriers to learning)
- Experience planning and delivering life skills, communication and early literacy/numeracy skills sessions to primary-aged children
- Knowledge of Makaton or PECS
- A minimum of 2 consistent days a week availability
- A commitment to keeping children and young people safe and a practical and up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding
