At Fresh Start in Education, weâre looking for proactive, personâcentred people to design and deliver personalised learning sessions that spark curiosity, confidence and a sense of hope for young people currently out of education in the London and surrounding areas. Youâll inspire students to rediscover the joy of learning in a way that works for them - one learner, one relationship, one small step at a time.
With allowances for travel and resources and full support from our dedicated team, this flexible role gives you the freedom to deliver learning in the ways that you feel best meet the studentâs needs and interests. What youâll be doing:
- Working 1:1 or 2:1 with children and young people in their homes or specialist settings in London and surrounding areas
- Planning and delivering personalised, creative, educational sessions that reflect each learnerâs needs, interests and abilities, particularly in Maths and English
- Running sessions during the school day (term time only) that typically last 3 to 5 hours
- Engaging with students who may have ASD, ADHD, SEMH needs, GDD or complex needs and helping them achieve outcomes at their pace
- Working flexibly as part of a compassionate, expertâled team that values you and your skills
Who weâre looking for:
- Experience (at least 1 year) as teachers, tutors, teaching assistants, SEN specialists and education professionals who have directly supported young people with SEN/SEMH needs
- A background in Primary, Secondary, Functional Skills or Post 16 teaching, or specialist SEND environments
- Deâescalation and behaviour management skills
- A minimum of 2 consistent weekdays available
- An upâtoâdate knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
What you can expect from Fresh Start in Education:
