As a General Kitchen Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the smooth running of the school kitchen and ensuring pupils receive nutritious, high-quality meals in a safe and welcoming environment. Working with the catering team, you will assist with food preparation, serving, and maintaining hygiene standards throughout the kitchen and dining areas.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting with the preparation and serving of meals.
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and dining areas.
- Washing up and ensuring all equipment is cleaned and stored correctly.
- Supporting the catering team with daily tasks and following health & safety guidelines.
- Complying with food safety standards at all times.
- Setting up and dismantling dining furniture.
- Having a positive attitude and enjoying working as part of a team.
- Possessing good communication and organisational skills.
- Being reliable and able to follow instructions carefully.
- Having previous experience in a kitchen environment (desirable but not essential - training will be provided).
- Being committed to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety.
This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement of the role.
