EIAT is a thriving Multi Academy Trust in North Birmingham incorporating The Hive College, Wilson Stuart School, Queensbury School Mayfield School, Lime Tree Nursery and Blue Sky Nursery. The Hive College is based in Erdington, Birmingham and is a Specialist Further Education College for learners aged 19-25 years with Special Educational Needs and disabilities. In November 2023 we were graded Outstanding in every single aspect of an Ofsted Inspection. Our adopted college motto is 'Believing is achieving', which resonates through everything we do at The Hive and it's at the heart of what we want our students to aspire to. We constantly strive for excellence, seeking innovative and collaborative ways of delivering the curriculum. As part of our on-going development of a highly successful specialist college, we have a Community Engagement Coach vacancy to join our team of professional and dedicated people. The college is a very happy and positive working environment. All staff are friendly and very supportive, we have excellent facilities and a superb environment to support teaching and learning and prepare our students for adulthood. We offer three individualised study programmes for students with PMLD, SLD, MLD and ASD. Our study programmes focus on preparation for adulthood, which include:

  • Employment
  • Independent living
  • Good health
  • Friends, relationships and community
    An NVQ Level 3 Vocational or Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent), plus minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade C and above (or equivalent)
  • A good understanding of how students learn and develop in education
  • The ability to support the work placement team in meeting the needs of all students, including mentoring, pastoral care and assisting with the physical care of students as and when required
  • The ability to work with individuals and small groups of students
  • Excellent communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour
  • The skills to support students in the workplace and whilst out in the community, This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential requirement of the role.
    Education Impact Academy Trust (EIAT) is three Special Schools and a Specialist College (19-25). We also have two mainstream day nurseries.

You will work with a team of staff to support children and young people to reach their full educational potential. We believe that 'Better Never Ends'. You may work with individuals who have physical disabilities, sensory impairments (i.e. hearing or visual), speech and language difficulties, learning difficulties such as dyslexia, conditions such as autism, social, emotional and mental health needs, or have a combination of these challenges. A key aspect of working within EIAT is that we identify individual needs and create a safe, stimulating and supportive learning environment. We take staff wellbeing and CPD very seriously and your professional development will provide you with a whole range of opportunities and equip you for a great career. We have 10 CPD days per year offering plenty of opportunity for your professional development. We want to engage all staff to support each other and feel included in our collaborative environment. Staff are trained to a high level and apply skills and knowledge together for the benefit of all.
