About the role: We are seeking a Counsellor to provide wellbeing support to students at the EFI Group. This involves short to medium term counselling or therapy to individuals to encourage healthy mental and emotional development, promoting longer term resilience; support to the safeguarding team including acting as a DSL. Early intervention and support are key to ensuring we support our students and enable them to achieve to the best of their ability.
The post holder will be personable, highly compassionate, and genuinely interested in education. This role's purpose is to ensure all students (aged 16+ across our FE course portfolio, HE and Apprenticeships), including the most vulnerable, make excellent progress both academically and with their social and emotional development.
About you:
- Qualifications: Diploma/ Degree in Counselling or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (Level 6 or 7) and Membership of BACP, UKCP, or BABCP.
- Experience: You will have experience of supporting young people and working with a range of stakeholders in a pastoral and student support setting.
- Expertise: You will be familiar and comfortable with the importance of student confidentiality when working with young people in crisis and of building and maintaining effective professional boundaries with staff and students. The ability to be creative and to think outside of the box will be essential to success in this role as well as working within a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion: You will be personable, highly compassionate, and genuinely interested in education, and most importantly will have the students' aspirations and mental health at the heart of your vision.
