SEN Primary Teacher
Location: Ealing, West London
Job Type: Full-Time Long-Term / Permanent
Start Date: September 2026 (or ASAP)
Salary: MPS / UPS + SEN Allowance (dependent on experience)
About the Role
The successful candidate will teach primary‑aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, delivering engaging and personalised learning experiences that enable every child to reach their full potential. The school supports pupils with a variety of needs, including:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs)
- Complex Learning Needs
You will work closely with Teaching Assistants, Therapists, SENCOs, and the wider multidisciplinary team to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
- Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment
- Support pupils’ academic, social, emotional, and communication development
- Develop and implement personalised learning strategies and interventions
- Monitor, assess, and track pupil progress against EHCP outcomes
- Work collaboratively with families, therapists, and external agencies
- Promote positive behaviour, independence, and confidence
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching within a primary or SEN setting
- Strong understanding of SEND and inclusive teaching practices
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Passion for supporting children with additional needs
Desirable
- Experience working with ASD, SLD, MLD, or complex needs
- Knowledge of EHCPs and SEND legislation
- Experience using communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or visual supports
- Team Teach or positive behaviour support training
