The Role As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting pupils to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their potential. Depending on the setting, you could be supporting pupils with: * Autism / ASD * ADHD * SEMH and behavioural needs * Speech and language difficulties * Complex learning needs * Moderate or severe learning difficulties * Physical and sensory needs * EHCPs and additional learning needs You may work on a 1:1 basis, within small groups or as part of a classroom support team, helping pupils academically, socially and emotionally. Key Responsibilities * Supporting pupils with their learning and development * Providing 1:1 and small-group support where required * Supporting children with SEND and additional needs * Helping pupils access the curriculum through differentiated activities * Developing positive relationships with pupils * Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation * Implementing individual learning plans and EHCP strategies * Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals * Encouraging independence, confidence and engagement * Creating a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment What We're Looking For We would love to hear from candidates who have experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEND. Experience as any of the following would be highly relevant: * Learning Support Assistant * SEN Teaching Assistant * Teaching Assistant * Behaviour Mentor * 1:1 Support Assistant * LSA * Higher Level Teaching Assistant Experience working with autism, ADHD, SEMH, challenging behaviour or complex needs is desirable but not essential.
