We are currently recruiting for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of specialist SEN schools and inclusive mainstream provisions in the Enfield area. About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide vital support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals. You may be supporting students with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD
- SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs)
- Speech and Language Difficulties
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties
- Complex Needs and EHCPs
You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and pastoral teams to provide a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. Schools across Enfield are actively seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to provide 1:1 support, small-group interventions, behaviour support, and emotional regulation strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND
- Support students both inside and outside the classroom
- Assist with implementing EHCP targets and support plans
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
- Support communication, social development, and independence
- Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN desirable
- Experience working within schools, care, youth work, support work, or residential settings welcomed
- Patient, resilient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for supporting vulnerable learners
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
