Are you an education expert? We are currently seeking to represent an experienced Headteacher for an interim senior leadership job based in an alternative provision in Sandwell, West Midlands (DY4 8RP). If you are a SEND specialist who is available from September 2025, we would be keen to speak with you. If you are an experienced Headteacher or an experienced Deputy Headteacher seeking a headship opportunity who has worked with pupils with SEND across either primary or secondary phases this role may be for you. We are currently supporting an established alternative provision based in Sandwell, West Midlands. This role is offered on an interim, temporary basis to cover a period of maternity for approximately 6 months (September 2025 to February 2026). The job can also be offered in the capacity of fixed term. This site is a small, well-established provision with an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating. Typically, children come from a wide range of backgrounds, but all have Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). Many will also have other Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) such as Autism, ADHD, and communication difficulties. An informal meeting via Teams will be offered as a starting point for you to gain a full understanding of the school and ethos of the trust. This would then be followed with a tour of the site and a meeting with either the Regional Director or the Executive Headteacher. This site is part of a national trust who are focussed on supporting children with complex behaviours and needs. Their pupils have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, and they work closely with them to develop self-belief to become effective learners. We focus on introducing senior leaders with a therapeutic style. If you are of a similar mindset and ethos, we would be very happy to discuss the role in more detail. In order to be successfully shortlisted in any of your applications with us we will require the following: A relevant UK based teaching and/or leadership qualification. Substantial experience working with pupils with SEND within an education setting.
