We are looking for an experienced Education Consultant to support the Ministry of Education and Higher Education of the Palestinian Authority in the delivery of the prioritization of the English language curriculum for Grades 1-4, laying the groundwork for prioritization efforts across other age groups and subject areas.

All children enrolled in Palestinian Authority (PA) schools have had their instructional time reduced to only 3 school days per week. To maximise the use of limited instructional time, the PA Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) is engaging in a curricular prioritisation process with a focus on English as a Foreign Language (EFL). The consultancy will be for around 95 days over 10 months starting in December with variable days each month depending on the outputs required.

The consultant should have the following experience:

  • Education expertise with understanding of literacy teaching and learning
  • Masters in Education; can be supplemented by a relevant degree and context-specific experience
  • Arabic and English speaker with experience of translating English materials into Arabic
  • Understanding of the Palestinian education system (particularly West Bank) and the impact of the conflict on the education system
  • Network and relationships with key stakeholders within the Palestinian context, including contacts within the government
  • Strong, demonstrable ability to navigate cultural and political sensitivities and to work alongside education stakeholders within West Bank to develop a context-relevant consultation, dissemination and training plan

If you are interested and available and meet the requirements please apply by Wednesday 3rd December.

Edt is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults whom we work with and come into contact with around the world. All applicants are subject to thorough screening and successful candidates are subject to the relevant level of criminal record checks with national police authorities or the UK’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This will be at minimum a basic DBS check.
