EXPRESSION OF INTEREST: TEACH IN TROPICAL BRUNEI (PRIMARY ENGLISH TEACHERS)

CfBT Education Services, part of Education Development Trust, is inviting experienced Primary English teachers to register their interest in joining our programme in Brunei Darussalam during the next academic year and beyond. Brunei Darussalam is a small, peaceful country on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia, surrounded by pristine tropical rainforest and beaches, with warm temperatures of around 27–30°C year-round. CfBT has worked in partnership with the Government of Brunei Darussalam for over 40 years, supporting the country’s bilingual education policy and strengthening teaching and learning across government schools.

Indicative salary and benefits (subject to role and placement)

  • A tax-free annual salary of up to BND 69,000 (approximately £41,000)
  • Contract completion bonus of 1/6th of salary
  • Generously sized furnished accommodation

Eligibility criteria

  • Hold a degree from a university in Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, the UK, South Africa, the USA, or an EU country
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status / recognised teacher accreditation (e.g. PGCE, BEd, DipT). A TEFL certificate with a degree alone is not sufficient
  • Have a minimum of three years’ post-qualification classroom teaching experience, with strong experience in early primary / foundation stage / Key Stage 1
  • Be able to drive (a local driving test must be passed to obtain a Bruneian licence)
  • Be under 55 years of age at the time of arrival in Brunei Darussalam
