At Education Companion, we’re building tools that help schools and trusts manage complex, high-stakes admin work more simply - starting with complaints.
We’re early-stage, but not starting from zero. We have grown fast. We have real schools using our product, real feedback, and a clear problem to solve. Now we’re looking for someone to help shape what comes next.
This is a hands-on product role for someone who wants real ownership where you can make a real difference, handle real responsibility and gain real purpose from your work. At Companion you would work closely with our founders to own the product roadmap, speak directly with schools, turn messy workflows into clear product decisions and collaborate with developers / AI tools to get the right things built quickly and safely.
About You
The ideal person for this role is not just a “Project Manager” and not just a “Developer”. You are an all-rounder. You enjoy new challenges, learn quickly, and take real satisfaction from figuring out things you have not done before. You understand users and care about their feedback. You can turn real-world complexity into software people actually want to use.
You might be:
- A strong product person with technical literacy
- A product-lead who has worked closely with dev teams
- A technical founder / builder who thinks deeply about users
- An Ed-tech native, who has worked on building software for schools before
- If not Ed-tech then govtech, legaltech, compliance, case management, or any workflow software are also helpful
- Someone already experimenting seriously with AI-assisted product development and excited to put these skills into practice.
It is for someone who wants to get close to users, make decisions, build quickly, and help turn successful early traction into something really exciting. If that sounds like you, or someone you know, drop me a message.
