We are seeking a large number of locally based Alternative Provision Tutors to work with learners in various areas in Wokingham. This role involves supporting students who may be:
- Preparing to reintegrate into a mainstream or specialist school
- Accessing education via EOTAS packages or Section 19 funded provision
- Facing barriers to education due to SEMH, SEN, or other individual needs
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, personalised tuition aligned with the KS1, KS2, KS3 or KS4 curriculum
- Adapt teaching strategies to suit individuals based on reintegration goals and EHCP targets
- Build trusting relationships with learners to support confidence and progress
- Maintain clear communication with Education Boutique
- Keep accurate records and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or demonstrable tutoring/TA experience in SEN
- Experience working with vulnerable or disengaged learners, including those with SEN/SEMH (PDA highly desirable)
- Ability to plan and deliver creative, targeted lessons to EHCP targets
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through our vetting process)
- Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel within Wokingham and nearby areas
- Registered as self‑employed (or willingness to work in this capacity)
- Hold Level 2 safeguarding (or willingness to obtain through our vetting process)
- Hold adequate Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance (or willingness to obtain during our vetting process)
