We are seeking a large number of locally based Alternative Provision Tutors to work with learners in various areas in Wokingham. This role involves supporting students who may be:

  • Preparing to reintegrate into a mainstream or specialist school
  • Accessing education via EOTAS packages or Section 19 funded provision
  • Facing barriers to education due to SEMH, SEN, or other individual needs

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, personalised tuition aligned with the KS1, KS2, KS3 or KS4 curriculum
  • Adapt teaching strategies to suit individuals based on reintegration goals and EHCP targets
  • Build trusting relationships with learners to support confidence and progress
  • Maintain clear communication with Education Boutique
  • Keep accurate records and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or demonstrable tutoring/TA experience in SEN
  • Experience working with vulnerable or disengaged learners, including those with SEN/SEMH (PDA highly desirable)
  • Ability to plan and deliver creative, targeted lessons to EHCP targets
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through our vetting process)
  • Access to reliable transport and willingness to travel within Wokingham and nearby areas
  • Registered as self‑employed (or willingness to work in this capacity)
  • Hold Level 2 safeguarding (or willingness to obtain through our vetting process)
  • Hold adequate Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance (or willingness to obtain during our vetting process)
