Job Purpose
Provide, under the direction of a Locality Manager, a range of training and support services to administrative, teaching and management staff in schools so that they can make effective use of the EdIS/C2k system.
Scope & Context
The postholder will contribute to the development of an overall implementation strategy in relation to aspects of the EdIS/C2k system and provide training and school‑based/Service Desk support as directed by the Locality Manager. The post holder will also support staff in the Core and Resources modules and in the general usage of the EdIS/C2k systems. As EdIS/C2k operates province‑wide, the postholder may be required to support the service across the Authority.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the design, development and delivery of in‑service strategies that help schools effectively use the EdIS/C2k services, especially the Office Administration elements.
- Plan and deliver effective training to administrative, teaching and management staff within guidelines provided by the Locality Manager, including whole‑school in‑service training where necessary.
- Assist with ongoing development and enhancements to Office Administration aspects of school‑based systems.
- Help staff make effective use of a range of Management Information System elements.
- Contribute to the customisation of schools’ systems and associated documentation.
- Advise staff on security and control procedures in relation to their systems.
- Provide appropriate Service Desk and on‑site support to staff in schools.
- Assist with team administration as required.
- Deliver in‑service training to colleagues in EdIS/C2k and other school support services.
- Provide progress reports and updates to Senior Management as required.
- Provide feedback to the Locality Manager on school satisfaction with the EdIS/C2k system and related work.
- Assist with research, development and enhancements of EdIS/C2k systems through pilot testing, quality‑assurance and cross‑project meetings.
- Undertake any other duties from time to time as required by the Locality Manager.
Essential Criteria – Section 1
- Hold an HNC/HND or higher qualification and have three years of demonstrable administrative experience using Microsoft Word and Excel; OR have five years of such experience.
- Demonstrable experience of school office administrative processes.
- Knowledge of C2k services to schools and the Core and Resources aspects of schools’ Management Information Systems.
- A high level of ICT competency through use of a range of software applications.

Other Requirements
- Must have access to a suitable vehicle, appropriately maintained and insured for Education Authority business, or provide sufficient information that an alternative form of transport will enable efficient mobility requirements of the post.
- Candidate must obtain an Enhanced Disclosure of Criminal Background Certificate under the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups (Northern Ireland) Order 2007, and will be expected to bear the cost of the certificate.
