Essential Criteria
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification suitable for teaching in grant‑aided schools in Northern Ireland.
- Hold a degree or equivalent Level 6 qualification that prepares the applicant to teach LLW, King's Trust, Boys Games and/or general subjects to Key Stage 4.
- Demonstrable experience of teaching LLW/King's Trust and Boys Games at Key Stage 4 and achieving positive learning outcomes.
- Demonstrable experience of using a range of teaching strategies to meet the learning needs of pupils.
- Demonstrable experience of using digital media/technology to enhance teaching and learning.
- Registration with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI) before taking up the post.
- Completion of required pre‑employment checks.
Additional Essential Criteria
- Knowledge of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
- Effective teaching and classroom management skills to inspire and challenge pupils to raise achievement.
- Evidence that the candidate’s experience and approach to work reflect the School’s Values and ethos.
Desirable Criteria
- Minimum of one year of demonstrable experience teaching Level 2 subjects such as LLW, King's Trust and/or Boys Games at Key Stage 4.
- Ability to contribute to the extracurricular provision at Craigavon Senior High School through Sport, Drama, Duke of Edinburgh Award, Scripture Union, Agriculture or other activities that enrich student experiences.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and courses in accordance with the curriculum.
- Assess, record and report on pupil development, progress and attainment.
- Promote the general progress and well‑being of pupils, including providing advice and guidance on educational and social matters.
- Communicate and consult with parents and external agencies as appropriate.
- Participate in staff development, performance review schemes and further professional training.
- Maintain discipline and safeguard pupils’ health and safety in accordance with policy.
- Support the preparation and supervision of pupils for public examinations.
- Contribute to the review and development of curriculum, pastoral arrangements and school administration.
