Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare curriculum, courses and lessons.
- Teach pupils, assess and report on their progress and attainment.
- Promote general progress and well-being of pupils and provide guidance on educational and career options.
- Maintain discipline, health and safety, and ensure safe pastoral care.
- Communicate with parents, colleagues and external bodies.
- Participate in staff development, training and professional reviews.
- Perform administrative duties including selection and induction of teachers, management of staff and resources.
- Support pupils for public examinations and coordinate examination arrangements.
- Carry out additional duties as reasonably required by the principal or board.
Essential Criteria – Shortlisting:
- Qualifications: Valid teaching qualification recognised for grant-aided schools in Northern Ireland; registered with GTCNI prior to start.
- Teaching Experience: Minimum 2 years teaching Key Stage 2 with evidence of positive learning outcomes.
- Classroom Skills: Demonstrable use of effective strategies for pupils of all abilities, including those with Special Educational Needs.
- Digital Skills: Experience of using digital media/technology to enhance teaching and learning.

- Knowledge: Northern Ireland Curriculum, safeguarding, SEND Code of Practice, and assessment methods.
