We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KS1 Class Teacher to join our school on a full-time maternity cover contract. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate educator to play a key role in supporting our children's learning, development, and wellbeing within a warm and supportive school community.
As the class teacher, you will take full responsibility for teaching, planning, assessment, and classroom leadership within a KS1 class. You will work closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to ensure every child feels valued, included, and able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality teaching across the KS1 curriculum, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive, and appropriately differentiated.
- Plan, prepare, and assess learning in line with school policies and curriculum expectations.
- Create a positive, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that supports children's academic and emotional development.
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities, including SEND and EAL learners.
- Maintain strong communication with parents and carers, providing regular updates on progress and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with the KS1 team and wider school staff to ensure continuity and consistency.
- Uphold high standards of behaviour, promoting a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere.
- A recognised teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE).
- Experience teaching within KS1 or strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to school life.
