7 The Cedars is a large, beautiful spacious home for seven people with challenging and complex needs set in a quiet residential area of Ashbrooke in Sunderland. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere and is situated close to a wide range of local amenities which enables the service users to feel part of their community. The staff team are passionate about the people they support and make every effort to ensure that each day is happy, fun, safe and stimulating.
Anyone joining the team must be prepared to facilitate an active programme including walks, shopping trips, community groups, meals and picnics in the community, discos and other social events.
- Have a high level of commitment and flexibility towards service delivery.
- Have a mature and compassionate attitude and would be an excellent role model.
- Have some experience of conflict management in a supervisory capacity.
- Are able to work flexibly to best meet the needs of the people you will be supporting.
- Possess good verbal, written and IT skills as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have a qualification relevant to the role, or be willing to work towards one.
- Would be willing to deputise the Team Leader in their absence, including being part of a senior team providing senior on call cover.
- Be willing to develop your knowledge of the role of the Care Quality Commission as the regulatory body for social care provision.
The successful applicant will have a defined role within the team, supporting the Team Leader in managerial tasks. The successful candidate will be expected to be part of a senior on call rota for the service. The role is subject to an Enhanced DBS.
