As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and operationally strong Head of Early Years Operations to oversee and lead our nursery settings across the North of England. This is a senior leadership opportunity for an ambitious professional who understands how to drive quality, compliance, safeguarding, occupancy, and operational excellence across multiple nursery settings. The successful candidate will work directly with the CEO and Senior Leadership Team and will play a key role in shaping the future growth, standards, and performance of our Early Years division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership across all nursery settings within the group
  • Support and manage Nursery Managers and senior leadership teams across multiple locations
  • Ensure outstanding standards in safeguarding, compliance, health & safety, and operational delivery
  • Lead Ofsted readiness, inspections, audits, action plans, and continuous quality improvement strategies
  • Monitor nursery performance including occupancy, staffing, parent experience, and service quality
  • Ensure EYFS frameworks, policies, procedures, and statutory requirements are implemented consistently across all settings
  • Conduct regular nursery visits, operational reviews, audits, and leadership meetings
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and staff development
  • Drive accountability, culture, and high performance across all nursery teams
  • Work closely with senior leadership on growth, operational strategy, and long term development
  • Build strong relationships with parents, local authorities, external agencies, and stakeholders
  • Support financial sustainability and operational efficiency across the nursery group

Candidate Requirements

  • Has substantial leadership experience within Early Years or Nursery settings
  • Has experience managing multiple nursery sites or large operational teams
  • Has excellent knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, compliance, and Ofsted frameworks
  • Is highly organised, proactive, and solutions driven
  • Can confidently lead and develop nursery leadership teams
  • Has strong communication and people management skills
  • Maintains high professional standards and attention to detail
  • Holds a relevant Early Years qualification (Level 3 minimum)
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and is comfortable travelling regularly between sites
