Are you an experienced Youth Work professional who’s ready to step away from full-time frontline delivery and use your expertise to shape the next generation of youth workers? We’re working with a values-led, socially focused training organisation that delivers high-quality apprenticeships with real impact. They’re now looking for a Youth Worker Trainer / Assessor to support learners on the Level 3 Youth Support Worker apprenticeship – and this role is very much about quality, purpose, and professional pride.

This is not a generic assessing role. It’s a position for someone who genuinely understands youth work, its values, and its importance. You’ll be supporting apprentices who are already working in youth services, helping them develop confidence, competence, and professional identity. You’ll guide them from induction through to Gateway, delivering engaging training, providing meaningful assessment, and ensuring they’re fully prepared for End Point Assessment.

Your caseload will be manageable, your diary largely your own, and your work will be trusted. Delivery is a mix of remote sessions and planned workplace visits, giving you variety without constant travel. Safeguarding, Prevent, and quality practice sit at the heart of everything you’ll do – not as tick-box exercises, but as lived principles.

The essentials (non-negotiable):

  • A JNC-recognised qualification Level 3 Diploma in Youth Work Practice or a Degree in Youth & Community Work
  • A recognised assessor qualification (CAVA, TAQA, A1, or D32/33)
  • Recent, genuine occupational experience in youth work
  • A real understanding of the youth work sector – this role is not suitable for generic Health & Social Care backgrounds without specific youth work qualifications
