We are thrilled to have been appointed to support our client to recruit 2 Skills Tutors based in their training centre in Barrow. Focusing on training within Team Leading/Management, Customer Service, Business Administration and Employability, the role focuses on tutoring to cohorts of learners within the centre.

The provider, who are a leading provider of training, mentoring and workplace solutions, have been running for over 20 years with a passion for ensuring individuals and businesses who use their training services succeed. Their tailored training programmes are designed to meet specific needs and goals. They provide comprehensive workplace training and mentoring services to ensure businesses thrive.

As a Tutor, you will play a transformational role in tutoring and empowering individuals in achieving a range of vocational courses within the clients Barrow centre. You will deliver to a cohort/caseload of learners, fostering a supportive learning environment.

  • Develop and deliver engaging in-person sessions to learners, maintaining high standards with support from Quality.
  • Create and support updates on resources and lesson plans, addressing individual and group needs.
  • Assess and mark learners' work in adherence to quality and compliance guidelines.
  • Work towards agreed targets with support from the Manager.
  • Actively promote training courses to learners, supporting additional course interests.
  • Tailor your teaching to ensure a consistent approach and support to all learners in every session.
  • Advise learners on additional courses available to grow their skillset.
  • Collaborate closely with the Barrow team, Quality, and IQA team.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to adapt style to customers and learners.
  • Be approachable and understanding to learners.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work effectively on own and as part of a team.
  • Effective time management and organisation skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Assessor Qualification or willingness to work towards.
  • Recognised teaching qualification e.g. PTLLS or equivalent.
  • Functional Skills Level 2 Math/English/IT.
  • Potential Competencies in Team Leading/Management, Customer Service, Business Administration and Employability along with others if applicable.

This role will require an enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
