The Role
As a Skills Coach, you will support apprentices through their learning journey, helping them to apply their knowledge and skills directly within the workplace. You will manage a caseload of learners, deliver high-quality one-to-one coaching, review progress, provide detailed feedback and help apprentices build strong evidence of their development. The programme has a strong focus on service design, change, innovation and practical transformation. Learners will explore areas such as user-centred design, stakeholder engagement, research, journey mapping, prototyping, problem-solving, project delivery and continuous improvement.
This role would suit someone who has coached on Management, Project Management, Leadership, Improvement, Change or related apprenticeship programmes and is confident supporting professionals to connect theory with real business impact.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You will coach and mentor apprentices, helping them reflect on their learning, develop confidence and embed new skills in their day-to-day roles.
- You will carry out regular progress reviews, set clear goals and support learners to remain on track, motivated and ready for successful achievement.
- You will assess learner work, portfolios, assignments and project evidence, providing feedback that is clear, constructive and developmental.
- You will build positive relationships with employers, ensuring learning is aligned to workplace priorities and delivers genuine value.
- You may also support or deliver engaging workshops, bringing topics to life through discussion, examples and contextualised learning.
- You will use e-portfolio and digital learning platforms to track progress, record evidence and maintain high-quality learner documentation.
- You will also contribute to quality, compliance, safeguarding and continuous improvement, helping to shape an excellent learner experience.

About You
You will be an experienced apprenticeship coach who understands how to motivate, challenge and support learners at different stages of their professional journey. You may come from a Management, Project Management, Leadership, Change, Innovation, Service Design or Human-Centred Design background. What matters most is your ability to help learners apply knowledge in practice and make a measurable impact in the workplace. You will be organised, proactive and confident managing a caseload, with strong communication skills and a learner-first approach. You will understand apprenticeship delivery, progress reviews, evidence gathering, assessment practice and the importance of high-quality feedback. You will also be comfortable using e-portfolio systems and digital learning tools.
Essential Requirements
- You should have experience coaching apprentices within a UK-based training provider, alongside a recognised teaching qualification such as AET, CET, DET or PGCE.
- An assessor qualification, such as A1 or CAVA, is required, as well as Level 2 Maths and English or equivalent.
- A Level 6 qualification, or equivalent professional experience in a relevant area, would be highly beneficial.
- Experience of service design is helpful, but experienced Management or Project Management Coaches with strong transferable knowledge are very much encouraged to apply.
- An IQA qualification would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Additional Information
This is a UK-based remote or hybrid role, with an anticipated start date of September / October 2026. Hybrid working may include one to two days per week in a London office, depending on location and preference. A DBS check will be required before employment is confirmed.
