In this role, you’ll deliver City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation training, helping learners develop advanced knowledge in electrical science, installation practices, inspection and testing, and fault finding. You’ll be working with motivated learners who are starting or progressing in their careers, supporting them through the transition from foundational knowledge to the more advanced technical understanding required at Level 3.

Main PurposeAs an Electrical Installation Tutor, your role will combine technical expertise with engaging teaching to ensure learners receive a high-quality and inspiring learning experience.
Responsibilities- Deliver engaging theory and practical training sessions for City & Guilds Level 3 electrical qualifications
- Teach advanced topics including electrical design principles, fault diagnosis, advanced circuitry, and compliance with BS 7671
- Bring technical concepts to life through real-world industry examples
- Support learners to develop strong technical knowledge alongside professional workplace behaviours
- Prepare learners for City & Guilds online exams, practical assessments, and final competency tests
- Conduct assessments including practical performance tasks and portfolio reviews
- Provide detailed, constructive feedback to help learners improve and progress
- Maintain accurate and compliant records to support internal and external quality assurance processes
- Guide learners through complex technical concepts and help build their confidence
- Support apprentices transitioning from Level 2 to Level 3 standards
- Encourage professionalism, strong working standards, and a safety-first mindset
- Identify learning needs and provide tailored support to ensure every learner can succeed
- Keep up to date with the latest BS 7671 regulations and industry developments
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share best practice
- Contribute ideas towards developing new courses and improving existing programmes

We’re looking for someone who combines strong industry knowledge with a genuine desire to help others succeed. You may already be working as a tutor, or you could be an experienced electrician ready to take your first step into education. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification (NVQ or equivalent) including AM2
- Significant experience working as a qualified electrician in industry
- An 18th Edition qualification (or willingness to obtain with support)
- A teaching qualification such as AET, CertEd or PGCE, or willingness to work towards one
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly
- A passion for supporting learners and helping them achieve their career goals
