We are delighted to be assisting one of our clients to recruit a Functional Skills Tutor to cover the Kent region.The client are a vocational training and development company who are dedicated to providing the best training possible for their learners. They have been rated 'GOOD' by Ofsted. Based from home, the successful applicant will travel across different sits in Kent, delivering classroom based Functional Skills to groups of between 8 and 12 individuals. The courses will last between one to two weeks with the aim of the functional skills being contextualised to other course, such as CSCS, Driving Theory, Food Hygiend and Customer Service. Expenses will be paid for travel. You will deliver high quality Teaching, Learning and Assessment to learners, ensuring full compliance and awarding body standards are met. The successful individual will ensure that learners progress well and experience high levels of satisfaction throughout their programme. Main Duties and Responsibilities – To contribute to curriculum development through the design and delivery of appropriate delivery models and schemes of work. – To plan learning activities per the delivery model, ensuring quality and flexibility to meet learner needs. – To follow the initial assessment process accurately to ensure learners are studying at the right level. – To offer good information, advice and guidance (IAG) to learners – To deliver course inductions – To ensure completions are timely and of the required standard – To prepare learners for examinations and assessments from Entry Level 1 up to Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English – To embed maths and English in vocational curriculum according to the needs of learners eg CSCS, Driving Theory, Employability, Mindfulness & Wellbeing – To contribute to improvement planning and actions relating to Ofsted inspection – To keep up-to-date with current thinking and changes in education, training and assessment – To follow Safeguarding, Prevent and British Value policies and processes and promote these during curriculum delivery – To follow all company policies and procedures Person Specification – Functional Skills maths and English at level 2 – Teaching qualification – minimum Level 3 Award in Education and Training (or be willing to work towards) – Ability to teach maths and English Functional Skills from Entry Level to Level 2 – Ability to teach Digital Skills or willingness to learn – IT literate – including Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Outlook, Excel), internet – Ability to communicate effectively at all levels – Excellent organisational skills – Ability to work under own initiative and prioritise tasks – Ability to work effectively as part of a team – High level of interpersonal skills – Ability to motivate self and others to achieve targets – Excellent personal and professional presentation – Flexible and adaptable – Desire to continually develop skills and knowledge relating to the role – Excellent time management skills – Committed to raising quality
